Your First Grader will receive a different type of progress report this school year. The reporting system used is STANDARDS BASED that uses letters which are based on performance, and not the traditional type that uses letter grades based on percentages. Below is a detailed explanation of each letter grade used and a blank report card to further your understanding of how your child is evaluated.

1st Quarter - Week of Oct. 31st to Nov. 4th during Parent- Teacher Conferences
2nd Quarter- January 25, 2017 (Students who are potential retaines will be notified by this date)
3rd Quarter - April 19, 2017
4th Quarter - Last Day of School

- ME = Meets with Excellence - Demonstrates excellent achievement of the targeted benchmarks.
- MP = Meets Proficiency - Demonstrates acceptable achievement of the targeted benchmarks.
- DP = Developing Proficiency -Is approaching acceptable achievement of the targeted benchmarks.
- WB = Well Below Proficiency -Does not demonstrate acceptable achievement of the targeted benchmarks, or provides no evidence
- NA = Not applicable at this time -These benchmarks have not been addressed at this time. A grade will be given by the end of the year.
